Story sits at the centre of everything Bex creates. Whether she's working on books, standalone illustrations, maps, or longer-form projects, she's drawn to worlds that feel lived-in, slightly (or completely) unstable and emotionally resonant. She lives somewhere between reality and Otherworld, and welcomes new work and collaborations.

Stories I Write

From picturebooks to graphic novels and novels for older readers, writing sits at the heart of Bex’s creative practice. Bex has several published children's books and is a Children's Books Ireland Champion of Reading.

Stories I Draw

Bex creates illustrations, maps and visual development, with a love of immersive detail and expressive mark-making. She is a member of the Illustrators Ireland and regularly works with publishers such as Gill Books and The O'Brien Press.

Stories I Teach

As a lecturer, workshop facilitator and researcher, Bex works with students and creative learners across a range of settings. She has taught third level with TU Dublin, DkIT, Griffith College and the Dublin Design Institute. She regularly fascilitates course with the Irish Writers Centre and Creative Writing Ink.
